With a weight of only around 960 grams (including scabbard approx. 1.4 kg), this sword is surprisingly light and manoeuvrable, enabling fast and precise movements. The approx. 84.5 cm long blade is made of heat-treated carbon steel, which is known for its hardness and flexibility. This makes the Gim suitable for stabbing techniques as well as cutting and slashing movements - a versatile weapon for training, decoration or show fighting.

The Chinese Leaf Gim can be wielded particularly smoothly with the fingers, wrist and forearm - similar to a western small sword.
