Product information "Gold Lion Wakizashi"

Gold Lion Wakizashi - Noble design and masterful craftsmanship

The Gold Lion Wakizashi is more than just the smaller version of the famous Gold Lion Katana (item no. 88ABK). It embodies the perfect combination of traditional Japanese blacksmithing and modern manufacturing techniques. This impressive wakizashi impresses with its high-quality workmanship, unique design and outstanding functionality.

The blade is made of high-quality Damascus steel, which is known for its exceptional hardness, sharpness and durability. With a blade length of approx. 53.3 cm, this wakizashi is compact yet impressively powerful. It is ideal as a companion weapon for a katana or as a stand-alone blade for martial artists and collectors.

A special feature of this wakizashi is its elegant handle. It is covered with genuine ray skin and fitted with a high-quality black silk cord winding. This means that the sword not only sits securely in the hand, but also offers an authentic look in the style of traditional samurai swords. The brass menuki lend the sword additional elegance and emphasise its noble character.

The black lacquered wooden sheath (saya) not only protects the blade, but is also a real visual highlight. It complements the elegant design of the wakizashi and makes it an impressive collector's item for lovers of Japanese martial arts weapons.

The significance of the wakizashi in Japanese tradition

The wakizashi was carried by the samurai as a secondary weapon and played a central role in their equipment. Together with a katana, it formed the famous Daishō, the samurai's traditional pair of swords. While the katana was used for open field combat, the wakizashi served as a close combat weapon in confined spaces or as a defence tool when the katana was not available.

Today, the wakizashiis not only popular with swordsmen and historians, but also with martial artists, collectors and lovers of traditional Japanese weapons. It is often used for Iaido, Kenjutsu and Tameshigiri (cutting exercises) and impresses with its versatility and compact design.

Gold Lion Wakizashi - perfect for collectors and martial artists

Whether as a complement to a katana or as a stand-alone blade, the Gold Lion Wakizashi is an excellent choice for anyone who values authenticity, quality and elegant design.
