Product description:

The Tsurumaru Katana impresses with its noble crane motif and an artistically designed Sendan saya with Ishime lacquer finish.

The tsuba (hand guard) shows a graceful crane with outstretched wings in a round arrangement - a symbol that is frequently found in Japanese art and in traditional family crests (mon).

The blade of the Tsurumaru Katana is made of high-quality T10 steel and has been refined with traditional clay tempering. It is sharply ground and achieves a hardness of 60 HRC, making it ideal for cutting exercises with tatami mats and bamboo. An integrated Bo-Hi fuller reduces the weight of the blade and ensures comfortable handling.

The saya (sword sheath) is decorated with an elaborately crafted rattan band and lacquered using an Ishime technique that creates a special droplet structure. This special surface minimises fingerprints and makes the scabbard particularly easy to clean.

The handle (tsuka) is made of solid wood and offers a stable construction. The wide blade tang is secured by two mekugi (bamboo pins), ensuring a high degree of stability and safety.
