In ancient China, the two-handed Gim sword was a symbol of brute strength and military prowess. This imposing weapon was only wielded by the strongest warriors and, with its enormous weight and long blade, could penetrate even heavy armour and break through enemy lines. Whether in defence of strategic points or in the open field, the gim was both feared and admired.

Cold Steel® brings back the two-handed Gim

This modern interpretation of the classic Chinese longsword is much easier to handle than some historical models - but still weighs around 1.3 kg and thus conveys the full fighting power of this traditional weapon. The long, double-edged blade made of 1060 carbon steel is robust, sharp and ideal for powerful slashes and controlled movements - both one-handed and two-handed.

The gim is equipped with a skilfully crafted brass guard and pommel, which is decorated with filigree relief decoration in a classic style. The wooden handle, wrapped with tightly braided cord, ensures optimum grip with every movement.
