Product information "Viking sword"
Historical Viking sword of the 9th and 10th centuries
The Viking sword of the 9th and 10th centuries was characterised by a long, broad blade with a central fuller and two edges. As it was primarily designed for hacking and slashing in the fighting techniques of the time, the blade had a rather rounded tip that was nevertheless suitable for stabbing. A simple, forward-curved crossguard was often combined with a handy handle made of leather-covered wood. In some cases, materials such as bone or brass were also used. A solid pommel with five ridges was used to balance the long blade.
This replica has a hand-forged, double-edged blade made of carbon steel, which has been polished by hand and sharpened to perfection. The handle is made of wood with leather wrapping and is framed by a simple but elegant crossguard and a pommel with five ridges. Both are decorated with traditional knot patterns.
The knife comes with a leather-covered wooden scabbard with a polished steel chape.
